The first phase of the project, which includes bridge, road, and water infrastructure works, was signed with Alsancak Municipality. In his speech at the signing ceremony, Alsancak Mayor Fırat Ataser explained that they have been working on the project to address the water supply issues for the residents in the area, but they couldn't implement the project due to budget constraints.
Ataser stated that they asked for support from Çağatay Özbirim, knowing his love for Alsancak and his importance for infrastructure, and Özbirim did not refuse this request.
Being at the forefront of the development of the region where its roots lie and continuing to live, Kıbrıs Developments, which has pioneered and set precedents, has completed a street project that exceeds standards, is environmentally friendly, and can serve as an example in the construction of transportation routes, indicating the high level of civilization.
Çağatay Özbirim Street starts by forming the 4th arm of Karaoglanoglu Street at the entrance to Alsancak in the east and ends at Atatürk Street in the west. Successively connecting Kani Akansu Street, 20 Temmuz 5th Street, and Atatürk Street to each other. This street, which is 3.08 kilometers long, undertakes an important density of Alsancak transportation, connecting Karaoglanoglu Street in the north and Çağatay Özbirim Street in the south. A bridge has been built at the point where the street intersects with Kani Akansu Street, and the road route has been connected to Atatürk Street in the west. A street fountain has been built at the western starting point of the bridge.
In the second phase of the project, arrangements regarding the regulation of the Karaoğlanoğlu Junction were completed under the sponsorship of Kıbrıs Developments as part of the protocol signed with the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation. Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı and Director of Kıbrıs Developments, Çağatay Özbirim, put their signatures on the protocol.
According to the protocol, arrangements at the junction known as "Karaoğlanoğlu Junction" located at the Edremit region of Girne District on the Girne-Alsancak Divided Main Road have been carried out. Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı stated that the sponsorship-based regulation of roundabouts and junctions on main arteries will reduce the workload of the Highways Department, which has limited resources, and efforts are being made to implement this method throughout the country.
The street was created by infrastructure, right and left sidewalks, lighting poles, and asphalt works. In addition, within the scope of road works, water transmission lines were also brought from Ilgaz and connections were made.
By creating an axis of transportation that prioritizes pedestrians by continuing the sidewalks and pedestrian crossings made within the scope of the project, including islands with landscaping, a circle consisting of local plants, and an example square project located at the center of the circle with a century-old olive tree, and by minimizing accidents with a driver-friendly design that narrows the wide median strips in the road, Kıbrıs Developments has realized this investment worth 2,600,000 GBP as a gift to the Municipality and the people of Alsancak on behalf of Blueway Holding Ltd., by director Çağatay Özbirim.
